Swap meets...
We need one.
There's a post on the Tulsa Craigslist right now about a swap meet this weekend. The author is looking for old bikes, and he's planning to attend a car swap over west of Sapulpa at the Creek County Fairgrounds on the 20th. I may go after work Friday.
Remember - this is a CAR swap meet. I've been to some motorcycle swaps that had a few bicycle too, but they were very unwelcome.
We need a BICYCLE swap meet on a regular basis somewhere around Tulsa.
Any ideas? Post them in comments.

Check with the SoundPony dudes. On any given weekend night, there are boatloads of urban riders hanging around the joint. Messengers-, alleycat-, and pub crawl- types. You get the picture.
Actually, Downtown Tulsa is getting to be very bike-friendly. And, NOT totally facilities-oriented either. More like REAL transportation bikers, warm bodies, and not just the homeless variety either.
McNellie's always has some really kewl rides, namely fixies, parked at their rack. Prowl around late some warm weekend nights.
I'd suggest you go to your local shop and try to organize one. My shop does them a few times a year in their parking lot. Nothing huge, but they sell space cheap, have lots of their own stuff to sell, and get their reps involved. Start small to see what interest is out there.
They put flyers up all over town, and use the local clubs to advertise the dates.
Bike shops are good ideas too. But, SP has a liquor license AND offers up live MUSIC. Beat that, Lee's!
