Hi! GUESS WHAT? We have a Fixed Gear Swap Meet this weekend ! Yes, the Saturday after Thanksgiving ! Noon to Nine ride at 5PM...At the SoundPony...Fixed is the focus, but road, mountain, BMX, cruiser, anybody everybody everything welcome...there is a myspace page (see via Soundpony) or you can write nomco at neilomurphy@juno.com for any other details.... "fixed gear swap meet" and "Tulsa Oklahoma" don't quite compute for me. I wonder what kind of fixies ORU students might ride?
Honestly, Fritz, there's far more to Tulsa than just ORU. Lyndsay spent a weekend there when she was looking at colleges. It creeped me out. The architecture was bad enough, but the Stepford Wives students with their permanent, bolted-on grins were scarier.
Students there ride bicycles like students on any other American campus, and when they leave, the bargain bin bicycles stay behind, locked to a rack while they slowly rust. I was told the university collects them, refurbishes them, and donates them to third world cyclists. Dunno if that's true.
There's a vibrant 'bicycle culture' scene developing here, fueled by (who else?) young hipsters primarily in the mid-town area.
We need to do some pieces on bicycle culture - what it is and what it means.

You just gotta accept that us Christians are naturally happier people. :-) Resistance is futile. We will add your cultural distinctiveness to our own.
