Sheldon Brown, RIP

Sheldon Brown died of a massive heart attack last night, according to his spouse, Harriet. We've had occasional correspondence, and I've always appreciated Sheldon's good humor, wit, and vast knowledge of nearly all things related to cycling. We've lost one of the greats.

Our own Jedi master of all things mechanical, Sheldon Brown, has written the ultimate chapter in proper care of the bicycle chain. I believe it has more moving parts than the rest of the bike combined, and it's essential to the overall performance of the drive train. So take heed of the master's instructions and your chain will likely outlast your bike!
